MIRACLE's First Year: A Strong Start Toward Transforming Leukemia Treatment

As we close the first year of the MIRACLE Doctoral Network, we are proud to reflect on the progress we have made toward our mission: understanding and eradicating minimal residual disease (MRD) in leukemia.

All 10 highly qualified doctoral candidates have been successfully recruited and are now engaged in cutting-edge research across 8 European countries. Each project tackles a unique angle of the MRD challenge—from developing immune-based therapies and AI-driven treatment predictions, to building 3D bone marrow models and exploring the molecular mechanisms of therapy resistance.

All scheduled milestones and deliverables for the year have been met, with supervision and career development plans firmly in place. Preparations for the first Winter School and Midterm Meeting in early 2026 are also well underway.

Thanks to the commitment of our beneficiaries and associated partners and the enthusiasm of our early-stage researchers, MIRACLE is fully on track to deliver impactful science and train a new generation of leukemia researchers. We are just getting started, and the future looks promising.
